# cultureddigital.co.uk / fish.txt

> **This file is satire.** fish.txt is not a standard and nothing reads it. It is deliberately short, because fish are said to forget everything after three seconds. (That is a myth too, which makes it exactly the right genre. See also: <https://catstxt.org/>.)

## Optimisation advice

Fish memory lasts months, not seconds. Most "special file" ranking advice has about the same shelf life as the myth about fish.

~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~
      blub. (not a ranking factor)
